Touring the Galapagos Islands

seeing the Galapagos Islands

Charles Darwin visited the Galapagos Islands in 1835. Unto how his theory came about is still a matter of great debate.Darwin’s visit to these islands caused an evolution in the understanding of the natural world; specifically how certain species of wildlife can adapt to very different environments.

Galapagos Islands are made up of 13 islands, all connected by a network of caves. In total, the islands have over 3400 islands, all varying in size and habitat. The larger the island, the stronger is its wildlife; on average, you will find some of the most rare species of birds in the world here. In fact, the wildlife in the Galapagos Islands is so diverse that it is literally the only place on earth where you will find an astonishing variety of sea-life.

Among the 13 islands, only one can be visited by tourists – Los Galopes, an island that has a small population of around 5000. This island is the most developed, boasting world-class hotels, restaurants and an array of bars and shops.

On Los Galopes, you can see a wide variety of sea life, from the tiny seahorses to the giant whales. The seahorse is a sea turtle, and in the water, these sea horses release a gas to keep them afloat. The giant whales are a true wonder. If you want to see these beautiful giants up close, a trip to Los Galopes is in order.

Tours, which are not guided, are available to tourists. This is a great way to see the natural wonders of the Galapagos Islands and learn about the islands’ many different inhabitants. It is also a great way to support the islands and their effort to preserve them and care for the wildlife that calls them home.

When you arrive to the islands, there are many different ways to arrive. Some cruise ships will take you, others will take you by bus, and then you can hike or take a 4×4 vehicle. The roads are not good here, so you are advised to have a vehicle with a good reputation.

A friend who does Florida Stereo recently came back from Galapagos Islands and told me, “Many of the animals you see on the islands are highly unlikely to come into contact with people. This includes the giant tortoises and iguanas. Both of these species have been protected since the 1960s and are known to be the next-to-last great decrease in the wild population of a species.”

However, there is hope for the species in the future. The natural parks and reserves the islands have to offer may help in re-establishing these gorgeous species.

If you want to see the rest of the islands, you will find buses leaving for the Galapagos every day, as well as taxis for the most adventurous tourists. If you use the bus service, you will be taken to the next island on the itinerary and, if you use a 4×4, you will be taken to the next island.

Overall, though, the Galapagos Islands are an outstanding experience. It is a chance to see rare marine species and beautiful coral reefs – everything you could hope for on a trip to this enthralling place.

Top Tourist Destinations In Brazil

Brazil Travel

If you are considering a holiday in Brazil, I have some advice for you. Buy a train pass as it will save you lots of money especially on intercity. The single biggest item you will need is the train pass as most shops and even the basic highway are not cheap. Do as much research as you can as this will save you lots of money in the long run.

I’m not going to list all of the possible destinations but I will give you a short list of train passes that will take you to the cities and towns I think are the best. Remember that your actual time to travel and the time that you have available to spend on the holiday will be less than 24 hours so the trains will not run on schedule. In some cases the trains do run on schedule for the stretches of the excursions.

I’m going to start with the north and stay valid until September because that is the time for the bull dances. The best choice is the Temer Dome which is an open air stadium right on the bank of the Bund River. Usually the sides of the Dome are only visible at night so you will not be able to see the dancing lights. The aesthetics of the place are amazing though. There is also the negotiating of a route or the unda, never really gets into the actual route.

You can also visitDepending on where you are coming from, you can choose between the Colca Canyon or the Pacaya Samiria. The way to the Pacaya is the most popular. Some people choose the Acantilados de los Santos ahead of the negotiated route as it is less crowed, However if you choose the opposite of the route you will arrive at the top of the canyon and have a beautiful view of Itaipú Dam.

If you choose the Pacaya route you will negotiate a series of terraces up and down the canyon. You will also get to the Sinagua National Reserve and if you get to the end of the route there, you will have to consult the map to decide if you want to continue on that road or take a small dirt road south to OSA Brazil, a community of farmers, located at an elevation of over 3,000 meters.

While we were there a local farmer showed us around his combine harvester. We also caught a ride to a different village across the river. My experience was good because I learned that there are lots of people who live in these parts. My knowledge about them was limited, but from what I saw one does a lot of washing and vegetable farming. Another trade is in the timber, they cut down everything of wood to make furniture, beams, and doors.

A friend who is an owners rep construction and recently got back from Brazil told me, “You definitely should take a good camera because you will want to remember these moments. Even if you did not see the areas where the festivities are held, you should have plenty of photos of people enjoying their lives. It is always interesting to see how people live in different places.”

The next year will be even more enjoyable because I anticipate to see even more people happy enjoying the Brazilian lifestyle.

Exploring Amsterdam

Amsterdam-vacation

Amsterdam is a beautiful city. There are strong connections between different parts of the city, and knowing which is the right place to go when you cross the city is not an easy thing. The new town is located in the centre of the city that is 24 square miles. Made up of three districts, the central, south-east and north-east quarters make up the neighborhood we are discussing here.

Gost Ruiterkerk is the nearest district to the train station. It has arakka street and a very livelyana, in summer a lot of local students live here. Here one can find late night clubs with a quality of a few years back, but at same time is a nice place to drink, eat and be merry with friends.

Theotto- to get to this district one has to take the subway to Raadhuisstraat and, leaving Raadhuisstraat, one can see the main boulevard of the new town, west on the Karolstean (about 3 km) and east on the Samenosterilii (5 km). Getting to the centre of the new town is 8 km on the new metro line and there are buses to the neighbourhoods as well.

The Recommendation is to start at Casablanca and walk east. One should take the blue bike trail that a lot of the Belgian tourists have purchased. It is much interesting and much loved by the locals. The metro is cheap as well and one can find nice hidden spots. 10 Euro for a 2 euro ticket for the whole route sounds nice.

A friend who does build contracting told me I should not miss the market Place du Chatelain, north of the Grand Place. The flea market is open on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. You can get there on Metro at Ripon Square. Finding bargains and trying out the local products is a theme for the whole city.

There are a few more worth visiting neighborhoods and buildings. De Wallen is the oldest part of the city. DeWallen has nice squares with fountains. Cathedral of Our Lady is there and it is a very nice building. It has a very old look, something that I did not expect. I did not get to go inside but the official church minutes noted that it used to have a affiliates office, and that there is an apse here too.

There are nice boutiques and even a Marks and Spencers. I did not manage to come into a boutique myself, but I did find one lovely dress there.

Speaking of malls, there are two large malls on the edge of town, Udeabbare I and Ma289. They are big enough to host their own independently-owned shops. There are department stores in Amsterdam too though. One of them is the final destination for any independent clothes shopper.

If one has time, one could visit Anne Frank House and try to see where it all began. I did so and it was quite moving. The place where she lived and wrote most of her famous diary is now an museum, a visit to which I recommend. It is quite meaningful.

I grouped most of my explorations on one map, generally speaking, but at least some of the suggestions are correct. Still, take your time and use your own decision.

What to do While in Kalamos Greece

What to do in Kalamos Greece

Kalamos is a popular holiday destination in Greece. It is located on the southeast coast of the country, along the Club Med coastline. The region is littered with natural slopes that are white and sandy, making them ideal for all sorts of sports. To get to the centre of the piste, you will need to drive up from the south slope of the Penisar sea, which is near Paralimni. The first part of the trip is easy going – up to 130 km in places. The second part is the most difficult, with climbs of up to 500 metres. However, because the slopes are so difficult, it is not surprising that they have been so successful.

There are 14 slopes in total, including four of black, Thracian, and Greek skiing varieties. In the eighties, the resort was covered with snow and wasn’t challenged by wind and snow as much as other resorts in the area. Nowadays, there is a gentler, fresher slope, which has resulted in a higher number of modern runs and a wider range of slopes. Four snow cannonso mbrava (2,866 metres) make skiing in Kalamos one of the deepest runs in Europe.

But there are so many other things to do in Kalamos:

• There are archaeological stretches of theNeolithic unwatered territories around Kalamos. You will also see here the ancient aqueducts and stone circles.

• If you are interested in the history of the island, pay a visit to Classics Today, the local school of classical studies in certified translations, run by teacher Pound Chao-Kumari.

• There are a few beaches in Kalamos, such as Platis Yialos, with its café and bottle-nose dolphins, and the more exclusive Skorpios Beach, where lots of millionaires are said to holiday.

• Smaller beaches can be found in the form of fountains, statues and labyrinths.

• The second largest city in Greece is transitions Gennathi, which used to be known as Discovery Gennathi until the 1970s. Today, Kastro (Cristo Forgés) is its main tourist resort. In the past, it was considered to be part of erstwhile Galaxidi, and the islands road to Raómipársa is littered with Gennadi ruins. There is a wealth of history to be found, even before the days of George Yugoslavia. Today, Gennadi is an attractive resort with history centring around a temple dedicated to Earth goddess Hecates. This amongst many other attractions.

• Not to forget the Roman ruins of Ephesus. In fact, they are just getting ready to celebrate the 2nd century anniversary of its decline, in July 2006. Today, it is one of the best madeleans around the Mediterranean, or maybe there is just a simply huge number of lovers of history.

• Transportation to Kos, Santorini, Rhodes and Kefalonia is very easy to find, with the island maps readily available from tourist offices and hotels.

• There are also a surprising number of picturesque old towns for you to explore among the romantic villages, and this way you can really experience the atmosphere of an antique town, without the hustle and bustle.

A Family Friendly Vacation Destination

family vacation ideas

OK, so I admit it, I’m biased. From my home state, Michigan, I have fond memories of family trips to Orlando and Anaheim, California, both of which are in Florida. Apart from the obvious, O.C. has plenty to offer in addition to the theme parks such as Disney World and Universal Studios. You could even combine a trip to this fun destination with a visit to the Great Lakes of Michigan – both Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick especially offer a great deal of summer fun.

Where on Earth?

Consider this: there are 11 states from Canada to California in all (with a population of more than three million in the case of Quebec to the north of Montreal, Canada). This makes for 11 countries from coast to coast. Divide that by two and you’re talking a staggering 107 countries.

For the purposes of this article we will only consider the mainland portion of the United States. I say this because it is the one and only truly North American continent and it is by far the most densely populated. The cities are stacked up like the skyscrapers along the San Francisco Bay, the Great Lakes, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.

Like the cities, cultures here are big, bad and fun. The festivities, the parties and the ambience are second to none. This is a place where teens and twenty-somethings go on a wild trip and co-ed kids are as accommodating as babysitters. Another bonus for this cosmopolitan city is its diversity. People from across the globe call certain cities their homes. Of course, there is a little peephole of a reason why so many of these places appeal to so many people.

Vehicles are as much a part of daily life here as human beings. The variety of options in renting a car is almost overwhelming. Some cities require license completion, the paperwork is overwhelming and the costs far outpace the modest monthly payments for a few weeks.

When a door-to-door shuttle from a company in your area lands in your spot, it is a good idea to question their daily, weekly and monthly rates. Use the Internet to find a reliable shuttle company in your neighborhood and check in with them several days before your trip. Also, do a little research about the places you will be visiting and get a firm booking. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Another tip is to visit the parking garages on the way to your destination. Don’t be afraid to stop and ask the Conde Nast Traveler who is also a tax debt attorney, “Are they open 24 hours?” If the Conde Nast employees are friendly and helpful, it will be worth the trip. If not, check with either the Conde Nast map or the Directions and Information section of the website.

If you are traveling with a small child, keep a tight schedule. Let the children pack for school and then follow up closely, handing out snacks and walking the kids through the park at dusk.

Overall, I encourage you to take a deep relaxing breath and step into these worlds of fantasy with me today.

How to Rent a Beach House

rent a beach house

While hotels are often the preferred accommodation choice for most travelers, and a few travelers actually prefer beach rentals. Indeed, with all of their worries about religion, politics, health, and wealth they usually choose to stay within the precincts of their own home rather than venture too far from their comforts. But in the case of tourists from all around the world, the decision to stay at beach rentals instead of a hotel can be a wise one. Besides being much cheaper, there are various other reasons why tourists decide to stay in beach rentals. To help you get started, here are some FAQs regarding the attraction of renting beach houses.

What Makes Beach House Rentals So Special?

A large part of the reason for people’s interest in renting beach houses is the feeling that it gives people a chance to live in the midst of the slow-paced, peaceful nature of the area. Many beach houses are made of wood, a cost-effective medium that makes it easy to build a strong foundation for the house within the natural environment. This, in turn, makes it feel as if the owner and residents actually live in the place for months, even years, at a time.

The Nature of Beach Houses

The idea of beach house rentals is often that of being part of the local community. It’s a place where people can own their own real estate by learning the material through a business course, where they can stay as long as they want, where they can make friends and get a sense of belonging – even if it’s only for an hour or so at a time. It’s a space where people can recreate; it’s a place where they can unwind. This sense of recreation is a large part of what makes beach houses so appealing.

What’s Available?

In the variety of beach house rentals available it’s easy to find one that the whole family can enjoy. Or, you can choose rental apartments, which have all of the comforts of home. You can choose from apartments that have one to four bedrooms, perfect for families with a myriad of buffs (from Mark Cuban‘s massive yachts to the simple yachts to the condos for the middle class family). Or, you can choose a rental that’s a single family home that’s located in a safe neighborhood and within walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, and other popular tourist sites.

The Architecture

Another thing that makes beach house rentals so appealing is their simplicity and elegance. There’s very little furniture or needless display spending lots of money on looking professional and upscale. You can select a house that’s built with a solid foundation so the structure (and the furnishings inside) won’t collapsed under the weight of heavy items.

There are also many options for the kitchen. Some rentals have a washer and dryer, for example, while others just have a microwave. Either way, the construction provides a practical solution for people who need to prepare their own meals.

damp here or choose the poolside towels and enjoy the view.

A Trip to Bergen

Bergen, Norway

Bergen is the largest city in Norway and the seventh largest in the world. It’s a city of handicrafts, architectural masterpieces, and famous fjords. Bergen is a university city: there are several universities located here. The city is a flat city, surrounded by hills. An unusual feature of Bergen is the continuous flow of the river Yggis. This river runs through the city and affects its health and dwelling prices.

The River Yggis is located in the center of the city. It’s a small mountain, only 2 kilometers long and 1 meter wide. The mountain has been growing up for centuries, and the underground part of it is now completely above the surface. This mountain has cold winds that blow down from above. The top of the mountain looks like a yellow sky, and the lowermost part is called the tongue. A surprising thing about the mountain is that it looks just like a tongue, actually it is a huge crater.

Bergen Zoo is a big attraction in the city. A ticket costs US$ 30 and is for an adults-only fee. Zoo is located at the outskirts of the city, there are no roads leading to it. When a person is walking towards the zoo gate, he will find a road that goes towards the Taumadres (the open air museum).

The Zoo is considered to be one of the biggest zoos in the world. It has a surface area of 14 hectares. You can find about zones here. They are placed in a horseshoe shape, surrounding a central occupant pool. 2 huge sharks, living in a diving tank, separated by a thousand meters.

Bergen Aquarium is situated on the right side of the harbor. It was opened in 1977. Thanks to that fact and its business valuation, the harbor is always in a good condition. It has a surface area of 30 hectares, and it provides the habitat for 4,000 sea life. The worth mentioning is the rock pool, covered by a half-meter deep tunnel.

Helsingor Viking Castle is located on the north side of the island. The castle was built in 930, but it was abandoned in the 13th century. There were some people who tried to rebuild the castle, but the 610 years soon passed. Now it’s a wildlife park and a great place for curious visitors.

Helsingor Ice Hotel ( voices and music – 2km walkway above the sea) is the largest hotel of the biggest natural ice cave in Europe, covering 10 hectares. Tourists are offered the opportunity to enter the heart of the ice hotel and observe the state of the cave, while enjoying the unique international cuisine and staying in an air-conditioned hotel.

The biggest tourist attraction of Bergen is the islands of the famous E coast. Tourists arrive to the island by ship from Bergen, and then go ashore to the small peninsula of Finmark. There they find a 3 kilometer long sandy beach, which is generally uncrowded. On the southern part of the island, there are villages, campsites and hotels. Tourists often take a walk to the ruins of the ancient village of Hovedoya, located on the most southern point of the island.

My Parents’ Surprise Trip

yellowstone national park

It was a simple morning hike in Yellowstone National Park. We had hardly anything to do and barely enough time to pack our gear before heading out. mom and dad decided to take a quick minute drive to the spot where my parents  is situated.

We parked the car and took a little walk around nomad campground, one of the many nomad camps in Yellowstone National Park. We had a pretty nice day trip some of the campgrounds we had seen in the past.

After our walk around we decided to visit ottawater-pox hospital. It was pretty interesting inside the hospital and with all the wild animals roaming around, I didn’t think I could have any real fear of snakes. I was pretty surprised to find out that the hospital was converted from the military hospital that they Use to use in WWII.

The docent, a retired nurse, talked to us about what life was like in the military, and how they were trained to handle any kind of disturbances that would occur inthe area. They were required to have a set of rules and try to maintain a certain decorum.

After leaving the hospital we were all set and took off for the National Park. I was a little nervous about whether my parents would keep their distance, knowing that I was going to a National Park.

We drove through some old ghost towns, and I was fascinated by the bizarre stone structures that the towns were built with.

I especially love the little towns tucked away in the Appalachians. I saw a ruined little village on an old road that was now surrounded by dwarf spruce trees.

The road started off in pretty good shape, but when we got towards Parthenon, the road got rough and we had to pull over in a little washcloth, which we were told was made by the Sikkimese. It was then that we got our first glimpse of what I call theNorthwest Eskimoox call “flattops”, it was the same as their rectangular houses, but longer and much more rugged. I couldn’t help but think these towers were more like Swedish Svens with flatter roofs than the usual skyscrapers, and wondered how these aboriginal people can afford to livein the harsh arctic conditions.

It was driving on the wild side when we got to a flat piece of land called Roatan (I highly recommend you take a tour of this island, it is amazing).

We came around a left side curve and were stuck for a good while. I had visions of being attacked by a spider wasp or mountain lion. Climb that rock next time. We barely got out of the car when a great white shark started circling the car. The shark was not interested in us and kept heading straight at us. If it had been any larger than I was able to see, it probably would have taken us both.

I have never seen so many people so healthy and alive and our hotel had the most beautiful countertop restoration done in our room.

After Roatan, we flew down to Miami and, of course, we picked up the prettiest young girl I had ever laid eyes on. My dream came true. Unfortunately, she was on a plane bound for her someday wedding to a Great White Texan.
